Admissions

We are delighted to welcome all prospective students and parents/carers to our academy.

Transition to High School

For those considering applying for a Year 7 place in September, we hold an Open Evening each year giving you an opportunity to tour the academy and meet our staff and students.

In-year admission

If you are seeking a place for your child as an ‘in-year’ transfer then we will be happy to arrange an individual visit to our academy at any time during the school year.

Please contact Mrs Spooner to arrange a tour on 01493 749207 or email [email protected]

A formal application needs to be completed and submitted directly to the Norfolk Local Admissions Service. Further details are available at www.norfolk.gov.uk/admissions. You can contact the Norfolk Admissions Officer by e-mail: [email protected] or phone: 01603 638036.

The school adheres to the local authority “Fair Access Protocol”.

As an academy, The Academy Trust is responsible for our academy admissions and decides how students are admitted. Please see Admission Policies at the bottom of the page for more details.

Oversubscription Criteria

If the academy receives more applications than there are available places then children with the academy named on an education, health care plan (EHC) or equivalent will be automatically admitted to the academy. If there are still places available, priority for admission will be given to those children who meet the oversubscription criteria set out below:

Previously Looked After Children are those who were previously looked after but immediately after being looked after were adopted or became subject to a child arrangements order or special guardianship order.
  2. Children attending cluster feeder schools: Ormesby Junior, Martham Primary, Rollesby Primary, Filby Primary, Hemsby Primary, Winterton Primary.
  3. Where a child has a brother or sister currently attending the school.
  4. Proximity of the child’s home to the school with those living nearer being accorded the higher priority.
  5. Where there are medical grounds (supported by relevant doctor’s certificate) for admitting a child.
